Classic Seagrass is Whitaker’s seagrass area rug, part of the natural fiber collection alongside sisal and jute. Seagrass is naturally stain resistant and stands up to serious traffic, with a smooth, almost waxy hand and a subtle green cast that mellows to warm straw. It is for indoor use only and is not suitable for a covered porch or any other outdoor setting. Choose custom dimensions and serging or binding to suit your furniture layout.
Start with a Classic Seagrass swatch. Compare it with the flooring and upholstery, then place your binding sample against the rug to decide how the edge should read in the room. If you are comparing natural fibers, sisal has a crisper, more tailored weave and jute is softer underfoot.
The rug is made to order in any size up to 13 by 40 feet, Serged to Match by default or bound in cotton or Sunbrella, and finished in Charleston. Nine standard stock sizes are also available.
Approved trade customers can order up to five rug swatches free of charge, with $10 shipping. Read the natural fiber instructions in the Care Guide before specifying: vacuum on low suction with no beater bar, in the direction of the weave, and blot spills at once, because natural fiber is susceptible to staining.
Whitaker sells strictly to approved designers and retailers for resale. Direct purchases for personal use are not permitted. Whitaker orders usually ship in 3–5 weeks. Transit time is additional.
