About this collection

Read the full description Close the description

Whitaker’s sisal collection is a range of natural fiber area rugs for indoor use only, made to custom dimensions with a choice of serging or binding. Sisal is the workhorse of the natural fibers: a crisp, precise weave that stands up to halls, stairs and offices while looking quietly dressed up. Direct ordering is limited to approved designers and retailers purchasing for resale.

Explore GA in Black, Marble and Mocha; Herringbone in Marble and Sand; Sahara in Marble, Natural and Sand; and Small Boucle Oyster. Compare the swatches at floor level with your other materials to choose the style and edge together. If the project is open to another natural fiber, jute is the softest underfoot and seagrass is smooth and stain resistant.

Every sisal rug is made to order in any size up to 13 by 40 feet, Serged to Match by default or bound in cotton or Sunbrella, and finished in Charleston. Nine standard stock sizes are also available.

Read the natural fiber instructions in the Care Guide before specifying: vacuum on low suction with no beater bar, in the direction of the weave, and blot spills at once, because natural fiber is susceptible to staining. Sisal is not for a covered porch or any other outdoor setting. For outdoor projects, use the polypropylene and P.E.T. rugs in the indoor/outdoor collection.

Approved trade customers can order up to five rug swatches free of charge, with $10 shipping. Whitaker orders usually ship in 3–5 weeks. Transit time is additional. For a notched or shaped rug, start with the custom rug guide.
